The Lancaster BIA hosted the Spring Home Builders Show March 17- 19, 2017 at Spooky Nook Sports Complex. Liberty SoftWash was pleased to be part of this outstanding event featuring local contractors and their services.
Not only were guests able to get information on potential home projects but they also got the chance to see inside this premier sports complex. This 700,000 sq ft. the complex is North America’s largest indoor sports complex and is also the home of the US Women’s Field Hockey training facility.
This former warehouse space previously housed Armstrong Flooring’s Global Distribution Center. After Armstrong left the building, it sat vacant for a few years until the plans for Spooky Nook were revealed. Since the opening in Summer 2013, they have become the premier spot for sporting tournaments in Lancaster County PA.
At Spooky Nook, there is always something going on. Locals and visitors from across the country come to the Nook for all types of sports. Tennis, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball are just a few of the games played here. In addition to team sports, there is also a rock climbing wall, obstacle course, and a fully equipped fitness center. In addition, there are plenty of spaces to host events large and small, from weddings to corporate gatherings.
The playing fields are top notch at Spooky Nook. The basketball courts feature walnut flooring while other playing fields are outfitted with turf flooring. They even have a specially designed floor tile in the entry, featuring random sneaker footprints!
If you are not participating in a sport but are a spectator, the best views can be seen from the facility’s mezzanine’s, which provided optimal viewing, from a safe distance! If you work up an appetite while you are at the Nook, you can visit the food court or smoothing bar for a quick bite or the Forklift & Palate for a fantastic sit-down dinner.
At the end of the day, you will be sure to get a good nights rest at the facility hotel. The hotel features over 100 rooms giving traveling teams or event guests a place to rest before and after tournaments.
